Ryan Reynolds was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, the youngest of four sons. He started dating actress Alanis Morissette in 2002 and they got engaged two years later. It was announced that they had decided to end their engagement in 2007.
The actor became romantically linked with actress Scarlett Johansson in 2007. They announced their engagement in May 2008.
Reynolds and Johansson got married on September 27, 2007, in a private ceremony in British Columbia. Their separation was revealed to the public in December 2010.
He and actress Blake Lively started dating in October 2011 and tied the nuptial knot on September 9, 2012, in South Carolina.

He has been involved in acting since he was thirteen years of age but his career began in 1991 in the Canadian teen soap opera Hillside.
Reynolds had a supporting role in the 13th episode of the third season of The X-Files and starred alongside Melissa Joan Hart in the TV movie Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996).
In 1998, the actor starred in Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place and also headlined Van Wilder in 2002. He underwent intense physical training to play the character of Hannibal King in the 2004 film Blade: Trinity.
Between 2005 and 2015, he appeared in Waiting..., X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Green Lantern, Safe House, R.I.P.D., The Captive, and Self/Less.
