Early Life

Arinze was born in Anambra State to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother. He attended the Victory College of Commerce in Ilorin, then proceeded to Taba Commercial College in Kaduna State to complete his secondary education. Segun studied Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University. He is popularly known as Black Arrow which he gained from a role he played. Arinze joined the primary school in Onitsha, obtaining his first School Leaving Certificate.

However, he completed his secondary school education while in Taba Commercial College, Kaduna State. Segun attended Victory College of Commerce, Ilorin. He holds a West African Senior School Certificate from college, Arinze furthered his education by joining Obafemi Awolowo University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Degree in Dramatic Arts.

Career

He started his acting career in Ilorin. He started acting while in a secondary school in Ilorin. Mainly he was a participant in drama and stage play. In the early 1990s was when Arinze joined the Nigerian Movie Industry. His fame came along with the Nollywood blockbuster movie, “Black Arrow”. Continuing with his career, the total number of movies adds up to more than 250 Nollywood movies. Mostly he is in action movies playing as a bad guy character role.

Arinze has acted like a criminal, arm robber, kidnapper, assassin, and terrorist. He has played in these roles alongside other famous actors and actresses. They include Saint Obi, Sam Dede, Regina Askia, Ramsey Noah, Stephanie Okereke, e.t.c.

Before even jumping to acts, Arinze did music. In 1992, he had his first music album, “Dreams”. Including more roles, Arinze was also the former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria(AGN).
