Simi

Simisola Kosoko, better known by her stage name ‘Simi’, was born on April 19, 1988 in Ojuelegba, Lagos. She attended Stars International College, Ikorodu for her secondary education and then proceeded to Convenant University, where she studied Mass Communication.

Simi grew up dancing and singing as a member of her local church’s choir until she wrote her first song at the age of 10.

Her music career started out as a gospel singer, with the release of her debut album ‘Ogaju’. Few years later, she switched to secular music and came into limelight after releasing ‘Tiff’ under X3M Music, a record label she was signed to in 2014. The song was nominated in two categories at The Headies 2015.

She left X3M Music in May 2019, when her contract expired and started her own record label, Studio Brat, in June 2019.

PERSONAL LIFE

Simi married Adekunle Gold on January 9, 2019 after dating for five years. They both welcomed their daughter, Adejare on the 30th of May 2020.
