Augustine Miles Kelechi

He was born on December 17, 1992, in Bauchi State, although he originally hails from Ivo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State. He was raised in several Northern states including Kaduna and Nasarawa, owing to the fact that his father was a Nigerian army. For his secondary education, he attended Heritage School.

At a young age, he started singing in the choir and was enrolled in a music school where he learnt to play piano and guitar.

Tekno dropped his debut song ‘Holiday’ under K Money Entertainment. In 2012, he got noticed by comedian Julius Agwu when he performed a song title ‘Onye Ne Kwu’ at a concert in Abuja. At the same event, he met Iyanya and Ubi Franklin, the manager of the record label Made Men Music Group. Tekno moved from Abuja to Lagos with the encouragement of the duo and joined the record label in 2013. He released ‘Dance’ and ‘Anything’ under the label.

However, the song that brought him to limelight was ‘Duro’ which he released on June 18, 2015. The song was a hit and it got massive airplay across Africa and the United States. The remix featuring Phyno and Flavour NAbannia topped several charts in Nigeria and abroad and peaked at Number 5 on Capital XTRA’s Afrobeat Chart: Top 10 for September 2015.
