Personal Life

Terry Apala is a Nigerian singer born on October 31, 1988, in the Ajegunle area of Lagos state, although he hails from Delta state.

Career

Terry started out his music career at the age of 12. He was a member of a dance group called Mezo Soprano, whose notable performance was at the Kanu Heart Foundation in 2000. The group performed alongside the music maestro, Orlando Julius. The performance opened up opportunities for Apala who later quitted the group to fully pursue his career in music. The release of his debut mix trap ‘Champagne Shower’ launched him into the mainstream.

Some of his hit singles include Modernize, Mo Popular, and Omidan.

In 2017, he did a cover of Ed Sheeran’s single ‘Shape of You which earned him the International City People Music Award for Best Music Cover of the Year.

In 2020, the self-acclaimed King of Apala New Skool released his first music six-track Extended Play (EP) titled ‘Major Vibes’ with zero features. He cited the late legendary singer, Haruna Ishola, as a major influence in his choice of music.
