Ado local government area is located in Benue State, Nigeria. It is situated within the Northcentral geopolitical zone of the country. Ado Local Government Area was created in 1991. Ado is one of the 9 local government areas in the southern senatorial zone of Benue State.

The administrative headquarters of Ado Local Government Area is located at Igumale, situated on the railway line transversing the north-south of Nigeria. Important towns and villages within Ado LGA include Agila, Apa, Ulayi, Ijigbam, Utonkon, and Ekile. The estimated population of Ado LGA is pegged at 198,540 dwellers.
