History Of Ahiazu Mbaise

Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area is situated in Imo State, Nigeria. It shares its borders with Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano to the north, Obowo and Ihitte Uboma to the east, Ezinihitte Mbaise and Aboh Mbaise to the south, and Ikeduru to the west.

Ahiazu Mbaise LGA was formed as a result of a merger between Ahiara and Ekwerazu. The headquarters of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA are located in the town of Afo Oru. There are fourteen towns that make up Ahiazu Mbaise, including Mpam, Ihitte Afor, Opara-Nadim, Akabor, Ogwuama/Amuzi, Obodo-Ujichi, Otulu/Aguneze, Umu-OKrika, Obohia, Ekwereazu, Obodo-Ahiara, Lude/Nnara-Mbia, Ogbe, and Oru - Ahiara.

According to the 2006 census, Ahiazu Mbaise LGA has a population of 170,902 inhabitants. The area covers approximately 114 square kilometers. The postal code of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA is 463.
