History Of Akoko North-East

Akoko North-East Local Government Area is part of Ondo State, Nigeria. The history of the local government area is intertwined with the broader history of Ondo State and the Akoko region. Ondo State itself was created on February 3, 1976, out of the former Western State during a state creation exercise by the Nigerian government.

Akoko North East Local Government Area is one of the eighteen serving local government councils of the state, domiciled in the town of Ikare, consisting the towns of Ikado, Okela, Okorun, Eshe, Odo, Ilepa, Okoja, Iku, Odeyare, Odoruwa, Okeruwa and others.
