Akpabuyo Local Government Area is in Cross River State, Nigeria. Akpabuyo was established as a separate local government area in 1991. The headquarters of the area are in the town of Ikot Nakanda. Akpabuyo has an area of 1,241 square kilometers.

As of the 2006 census, Akpabuyo LGA had a population of 271,395 inhabitants. The postal code for Akpabuyo Local Government Area is 541. Akpabuyo LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Atimbo, Ikot Edem Odo, Ikot Eyo, Ikang, and Idundu. The major ethnic groups in Akpabuyo are the Efik, Qua, and Efut.
