History Of Akure North

Akure North Local Government Area is in Ondo State, Nigeria, with its headquarters in the town of Iju/Itaogbolu. The local government area covers an area of 660 square kilometers and had a population of 131,587 as per the 2006 census. Itagbolu town serves as the administrative center and includes districts and communities such as Akomowa, Agamo, Oke-Oore, Ayede, Ogbese, Ayetoro, Igbatoro, Igoba, and others.

In addition to its administrative aspects, Akure North is characterized by a diverse population comprising both Christians and Muslims. The area is known for cultural festivals, including the Airegbe festival and the Odun Ina festival.
