History Of Baruten

Baruten Local Government Area is located in Kwara State, Northcentral Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Kosubosu. Baruten LGA shares borders with the Republic of Benin and covers a vast area of 9,749 km2 (3,764 sq mi). It spans from Ilesha Baruba to Chikanda, the border town.

The LGA is comprised of numerous towns and villages, including Gwanara, Yawoji, Zume Buran, Kemanji, Moshe, Sumaji, Tori Gandu, Tungan Sabi, and Ilesha. As of the 2006 census, Baruten had a population of 209,459 inhabitants.
