History Of Bungudu

Bungudu Local Government Area is situated in Zamfara State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are located in the town of Bungudu, positioned at coordinates 12°16′00″N 6°33′24″E. Bungudu LGA covers an area of 2,293 square kilometers. According to the 2006 census, it had a population of 257,917 people. The postal code of Bungudu Local Government Area is 881.

Bungudu LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Sankalawa, Gada, Karakkai, Furfurri, Kwai-kwai, Kotorkoshi, Dashi, Kwatarkwashi, and Mashema. The major occupants of the area are the Fulani and the Hausa ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fulfulde languages are extensively spoken.
