Damaturu Local Government Area is situated in Yobe State, Northern Nigeria. The capital city, Damaturu, serves as both the local government area and the capital city of the state. The LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Sasawa, Bayan Tasha, Gwange, Maisandari, Bindigari, and Lamisula.

Damaturu LGA has an estimated population of 194,089 inhabitants, with the majority belonging to the Hausa ethnic group. The predominant ethnic group in Damaturu LGA is the Hausa, and the Hausa language is extensively spoken in the area.
