History Of Eastern Obolo

Eastern Obolo Local Government Area located in southern Nigeria, within Akwa Ibom State. The headquarters of Eastern Obolo LGA is situated at Okoroete. Eastern Obolo LGA was created by the Federal Government of Nigeria on December 4, 1996. It was carved out of Ikot Abasi LGA to form a distinct administrative unit.

The LGA has a population of over 30,000 residents, and it covers a total area of approximately 17,000 km2. Eastern Obolo is organized into 16 villages, which are further divided into two clans, namely Okoroete and Iko. The presence of clans and villages highlights the cultural and social diversity within the local government area.
