History Of Ekeremor

Ekeremor Local Government Area is one of the eight local government areas in Bayelsa State, located in the Southsouth region of Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Ekeremor. Ekeremor LGA has an area of 1,810 square kilometers. The population of Ekeremor LGA was 270,257 at the 2006 census. The current estimated population is put at 183,085 inhabitants.

Ekeremor shares borders with Delta State.
It has a coastline of approximately 60 km on the Bight of Bonny. Major towns and villages in Ekeremor LGA include Ndoro, Tietiegbene, Ogbobene, Eduwini, Aleibiri, Norhene, Oyiakiri, and Tarakiri. The prominent ethnic group in the area is the Ijaw ethnic group. The Ijaw language is widely spoken in the area. The postal code for the area is 561.
