History Of Ekiti West

Ekiti West Local Government Council is located in the western part of Ekiti State, Nigeria. It shares common boundaries with Ifelodun/Irepodun LGA, Ijero LGA, and Efon Alaaye, all in Ekiti State. Additionally, it has boundaries with Ila and Oriade LGAs in Osun State. The headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government is in the town of Aramoko.

Most of the lands in Ekiti West Local Government Area are undulating in shape, with pronounced rugged hills surrounding towns like Okemesi, Ido-Ile, Ipole-Iloro, Erio, and Ikogosi. The local government area covers an area of 366 square kilometers and had a population of 179,892 at the 2006 census. The postal code for the area is 362.
