History Of Ewekoro

Ewekoro Local Government Area is situated in Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria. The headquarters of Ewekoro Local Government is in the town of Itori, located at 6°56′00″N 3°13′00″E. Ewekoro covers a total land area of 594 square kilometers.

According to the 2006 census, Ewekoro had a population of 55,156 inhabitants. However, the estimated population in recent years is approximately 108,944 residents. The majority of the population in Ewekoro belongs to the Egba sub-division of the Yoruba tribe. The Yoruba language is widely spoken in the area.

Ewekoro LGA is made up of various towns and villages, including Asipa, Ikereku, Ilawo, Itori Alase, Lambo, Pataleri, Ojo, and Ika.
