History Of Funakaye

Funakaye Local Government Area is located in Gombe State, Nigeria, within the Northeast geopolitical division. The headquarters of the LGA is situated in the town of Bajoga. The LGA is bounded in the east by the Gongola River and Lake Dadin Kowa, which also serve as borders with Yobe State and Borno State.

According to the 2006 census, Funakaye LGA had a population of 236,087 people. The most populous ethnic groups in the area are the Hausa and Fulani. Funakaye LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Ashaka, Maraba, Bajoga, Tango, Wawa, and Kupto.
