History Of Gabasawa

Gabasawa Local Government Area is situated in Kano State, Nigeria. Gabasawa LGA covers an area of 605 km⊃2; and had a population of 211,055 according to the 2006 census. However, the current estimated population of the LGA is 173,644 inhabitants.

The LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Chikawa, Gumawa, Joda, Mekiya, Zango, Tofai, Mazangudu, and Guruma. The majority of the residents in Gabasawa LGA belong to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fulfulde languages are widely spoken in the area.
