History Of Ganjuwa

Ganjuwa Local Government Area was created in September 1991, carved out from Darazo Local Government. Ganjuwa is situated within Bauchi State, Northeast Nigeria.

It shares borders with Jigawa State (North), Gombe State (South East), Bauchi Local Government (South), Toro Local Government (West), Ningi Local Government (North West), Darazo Local Government (North South East), and Kirfi Local Government (East).

Ganjuwa Local Government has one District, eight Village Areas, and 122 Hamlets. The Madaki of Bauchi serves as the District Head of Ganjuwa and is a Kingmaker of the Bauchi Emirate. The population of Ganjuwa Local Government Area was reported as 280,486 according to the 2006 Census. An estimated population is put at 169,776 inhabitants.

The area is home to numerous tribes and languages, including Gerawa, Denawa, Miyawa, Kariyawa, Hausawa, Fulanis, among others. The majority of the inhabitants belong to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic. The commonly spoken languages are Hausa and Fulfulde.
