History Of Ganye

Ganye Local Government Area (LGA) situated in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria. It shares borders with Jada Local Government Area to the North and East, Toungo Local Government Area to the South, and Taraba State to the West. Jada and Toungo Local Governments were carved out from Ganye Local Government Area.

The estimated population of Ganye LGA is approximately 161,055 inhabitants. The Chamba ethnic group is noted as the prominent tribe in the area.

Ganye LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Yebbi, Gurum, Banarikiuso, Timdore, Sugu, Jaggu, Bagana, Dakauro, and Gauso. The Sama mum language is extensively spoken in the Ganye LGA.
