History Of Giwa

Giwa Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in Kaduna State, Nigeria, in the North-West region. It was created on September 15, 1991, as part of the administrative divisions of the state. Giwa LGA is governed from its headquarters located in the town of Giwa.

The LGA covers an area of 2,066 square kilometers and had a population of 286,427 according to the 2006 census. It comprises 11 wards, namely Shika, Idasu, Kadaga, Danmahawayi, Kidandan, Galadimawa, Gangara, Giwa, Kakangi, Pan Hauya, and Yakawada. Giwa shares borders with several other LGAs in Kaduna State, including Funtua, Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Dandume, and Sabuwa.

The estimated population of Giwa LGA is 204,668 inhabitants, with the predominant ethnic groups being the Hausa and Fulani. The primary languages spoken in the area are Hausa and Fulfulde. The postal code of Giwa Local Government Area is 810.
