History Of Guma

Guma Local Government Area is in Benue State, North Central Nigeria. The headquarters of Guma is in the town of Gbajimba. Guma Local Government Area was established by the Makurdi Local Government in May 1989.

Guma Local Government Area covers a total area of 2,882 square kilometers. According to the 2006 census, Guma had a population of 191,599. Guma is bordered by Logo, Makurdi, Tarka, and Doma Local Government Areas. Some of the towns and villages in Guma include Daudu, Torkula, Kase-yough, Gbajimba, Abinsi, Kaambe, Mbasombo, and Ndzorov.

The majority of the population belongs to the Tiv ethnic group. The Tiv language is extensively spoken in the area. The postal code for the area is 970.
