History Of Gumel

Gumel Local Government Area is situated in Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria. Its administrative headquarters is located in the town of Gumel. Gumel LGA shares borders with Gagarawa, Sule, and Tankarkar Local Government.

Gumel LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Jobi, Maigatari, Danzomo, Faraina, Ganjara, Kirgi, Turkushawa, and Banaga. These communities contribute to the socio-economic and cultural landscape of the LGA.

The estimated population of Gumel LGA is 169,717 inhabitants. The majority of the population belongs to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The predominant languages spoken in Gumel LGA are Hausa and Fulfulde. The Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups constitute the majority of the population in Gumel LGA.
