History Of Gwiwa

Gwiwa Local Government Area is situated in Jigawa State, Nigeria, within the Northwest geopolitical zone of the country. The LGA was established to cater to the administrative needs of the area, with its headquarters located in the town of Gwiwa.

Gwiwa LGA covers an area of 450 square kilometers. According to the 2006 census, it had a population of 124,517 inhabitants. The estimated current population is approximately 178,903 inhabitants, indicating population growth over the years. Gwiwa LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Buntusu, Shafe, Guntai, Darina, Korau, Daabi, Yola, and Korayel. 

The majority of the population in Gwiwa LGA belongs to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. As such, the Hausa and Fulfulde languages are commonly spoken throughout the area, reflecting the cultural heritage of the community. The postal code of Gwiwa LGA is 705.
