History Of Hadejia

Haɗejiya Local Government also known as Haɗeja, is located in eastern Jigawa State, northern Nigeria. It lies between latitude 12.4506N and longitude 10.0404E. The town shares boundaries with Kiri Kasama Local Government to the east, Mallam Maɗori Local Government to the north, and Auyo Local Government to the west.

According to the 2006 census, Haɗejiya had a population of approximately 105,628 inhabitants. The population comprises predominantly of the Hausa, Fulani, and Kanuri ethnic groups, although there are also other ethnic groups such as Tiv, Yoruba, Igbo, Igala, among others.

Haɗejiya Local Government consists of eleven political wards, namely: Atafi, Dubantu, Gagulmari, Kasuwar Ƙofa, Kasuwar Kuda, Matsaro, Majema, Rumfa, Sabon Garu, Ƴankoli, and Yayari. These wards serve as administrative units within the local government area. The inhabitants of Haɗejiya are culturally diverse, with the dominant ethnic groups being the Hausa, Fulani, and Kanuri.
