History Of Ibi

Ibi Local Government Area is located in Taraba State, Nigeria, within the Northcentral geopolitical zone. Ibi serves as both a town and an administrative district in Taraba State. It is one of the sixteen local government areas of the state.

Ibi LGA shares borders with parts of Nasarawa and Plateau states. The presence of major rivers like the Benue, Taraba, and Donga rivers contributes to the geographical landscape of the area.

Ibi LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Kogwase, Gindin-waya, Moti, Tepga, Sarkin kudu, Dooshima, Dampara, and Mavo. The estimated population of Ibi LGA is 130,055 inhabitants. The area is home to members of several ethnic affiliations, including the Jukun, Hausa, and Fulani. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the LGA.
