History Of Ifelodun

Ifelodun is a local government area in Osun State, Nigeria, located in the northern part of the state. The headquarters of Ifelodun LGA is in the town of Ikirun. Ifelodun has an area of 114 km⊃2;. The population of Ifelodun was 96,748 at the 2006 census.

The LGA headquarters in Ikirun is about 10 minutes' drive north of Osogbo, the state capital. There are twelve wards in Ifelodun, mostly agrarian. Crops grown include kolanut, palm oil, root crops, and fruit.

Towns in Ifelodun include Ikirun, Iba, Eko-Ende, Eko-Ajala, Obaagun, Dagbolu, Seke, Fidibomi, and Oluode.
Ifelodun is bordered by Irepodun in the north, Ila Orangun in the east, Orolu in the south, Obokun in the southwest, Atakunmosa East in the west, and Ilesa East in the northwest.

Ifelodun is a predominantly agricultural area with crops such as cocoa, yam, and cassava being grown. Livestock farming, including goats, sheep, and chickens, is also practiced by the people.
