History Of Ikara

Ikara Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria. It is located approximately 85 kilometers northeast of the city of Zaria. The administrative headquarters of Ikara LGA is in the town of Ikara.

Ikara LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Dan-Lawal, Kankanki, Saulawa, Bunji, Romi, Yauran, Malilanchi, and Janfalan. The estimated population of Ikara LGA is 195,672 inhabitants.

Ikara LGA shares borders with Makarfi, Soba, and Kubau LGAs within Kaduna State, as well as parts of Kano State. The majority of the population in Ikara LGA belongs to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is widely spoken in the area.
