History Of Ilorin East

Ilorin East Local Government Area is located in Kwara State, Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Oke Oyi. Ilorin East local government was created in 1991 from Ilorin Local Government with its headquarters at Oke-Oyi. Ilorin East LGA covers an area of 486 km2.

As of the 2006 census, Ilorin East had a population of 204,310 inhabitants. The Local Government has 11 wards. Major towns in Ilorin East include Iponrin, Apado, Oke-Oyi, Panada-Agbeyangi, IIe-Apa, Lajiki, Elesin-Meta, and Eudo Are.
