History Of Imeko Afon

Imeko Afon is a Local Government Area is situated in Ogun state, Southwest Nigeria and has its headquarters in the town of Imeko. The LGA is bordered by Oyo state in Ibadan state, Abeokuta North, Yewa North local government areas and by parts of the Republic of Benin. Towns and villages that make up Imeko/afon LGA include Imeko, Afon, Ilara, Iwoye, Idofa, Owode, Agborogbomo, Atapele, and Agberiodo.

The estimated population of Imeko/ Afon LGA is 149,988 inhabitants with the majority of the area’s dwellers being members of the Yoruba ethnic group.
