Ini Local Government Area is located in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. It is situated in Akwa Ibom State. The local government area shares borders with Ikono and Obot Akara Local Government Areas, as well as parts of Abia State.
Ini Local Government Area covers the former Ikono Local Government Area and extends into parts of Abia State. The land area of Ini Local Government Area is approximately 320,451 square kilometers.
As of 2006, the population of Ini Local Government Area was reported to be 99,196. The population consists of 52,644 male residents and 46,552 female residents. The majority of the population belongs to the Ibibio ethnic group. The Ibibio language is widely spoken in the area.
Some of the towns and villages within Ini Local Government Area include Iwere, Nkana, Ukwok, OdoroIkono, Ikpe, Mbonuso, Mbiabet, Itie Ikpe, and Nkari.
