History Of Isiala Mbano

Isiala Mbano Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in the southeastern part of Imo State, Nigeria. The headquarters of Isiala Mbano LGA is located in the town of Umuelemai. The LGA covers an approximate area of 108 square kilometers.

As of the 2006 census, Isiala Mbano LGA had a population of 198,736 inhabitants. The postal code of Isiala Mbano LGA is 471. Isiala Mbano LGA shares borders with Onuimo, Nwangele, Ehime Mbano, Ikeduru, and Mbaitolu LGAs.

The LGA is comprised of several towns and villages, including Umuelemai, Umuduruehie, Umuelejiaku, Amukwuru, Okwudor, Umuezegwu, Anara, Osu Owerre, Ezumoha, Ezihe, Umuozu, Amaraku, Umuenyi, and Ibeme. The majority of the inhabitants in Isiala Mbano LGA belong to the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is widely spoken in Isiala Mbano LGA.
