History Of Isu

Isu Local Government Area is situated in Imo State, Nigeria, within the South-east geopolitical zone of the country. The headquarters of Isu LGA is located in the town of Umundugba.

Isu LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Amandugba, Ekwe, Uburu Ekwe, Isunjaba, Amurie Omanze, Ebenator Ekwe, Oboro Amurie, Ihokporo, and Umuelem.

The estimated population of Isu LGA is 111,213 inhabitants, with the majority belonging to the Igbo ethnic group. The Igbo language is extensively spoken within the local government area. The Isu people are a subgroup of the Igbo ethnic group, and they form the predominant population in the area.
