History Of Iwo

Iwo Local Government is located in Osun State, Nigeria, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Ibadan. The city has a population of over 190,000 people.

Iwo local govenment is described as a major agricultural center with the main crops grown being cocoa, yam, cassava, and maize. Small-scale industries in the area include food processing, furniture making, and pottery. The people of Iwo are predominantly Yoruba.
