History Of Kachia

Kachia Local Government Area situated in the southern part of Kaduna State, Nigeria, with its headquarters located in the town of Kachia. It covers an area of 4,570 km⊃2; and had a population of 252,568 according to the 2006 census.

Kachia LGA shares boundaries with several neighboring LGAs: to the east with Zangon Kataf LGA, to the northeast with Kajuru LGA, to the south with Kagarko LGA, to the southeast with Jaba LGA, and to the northwest with Chikun LGA. It also shares boundaries with Munya and Paikoro LGAs of Niger State to the west.

Kachia Local Government Area is divided into 12 subdivisions or electoral wards, which include Agunu, Ankwa, Awon, Bishini, Dokwa, Gidan Tagwai, Gumel, Kachia (Akhwee), Kateri (Anumafa), Kurmin Musa, Kwaturu, and Sabon Sarki (Ghiing). According to the March 21, 2006 national population census, the population 252,568.
