History Of Kaduna South

Kaduna South Local Government Area situated in the Kaduna Metropolis of Kaduna State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is located in Makera, and it covers an area of approximately 46.2 km⊃2;. The postal code for the area is 800. Kaduna South Local Government Area shares boundaries with three other Local Government Areas: Kaduna North LGA to the north, Chikun LGA to the south, and Igabi LGA to the northwest.

Kaduna South Local Government Area consists of 13 subdivisions or wards, namely Badiko, Barnawa, Kakuri Gwari, Kakuri Hausa, Makera, Sabon Gari North, Sabon Gari South, Television, Tudun Nupawa, Tudun Wada North, Tudun Wada South, Tudun Wada West, and Unguwan Sanusi.

As of the 2006 census, Kaduna South Local Government Area had a population of 402,731 inhabitants. The area is characterized by a mixed population comprising various Nigerian ethnic groups such as Adara, Atyap, Bajju, Gbagyi, Ham, Hausa, Idoma, Igala, Igbo, Nupe, Yoruba, among others.
