History Of Kaltungo

Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is situated in the town of Kaltungo, located in the western part of the Local Government Area on the A345 highway at coordinates 9°48′51″N 11°18′32″E.

The Kaltungo LGA covers an area of 881 square kilometers. According to the 2006 census, Kaltungo had a population of 149,805 inhabitants. The current estimated population is around 194,512 inhabitants.

Kaltungo LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Munda, Gassol, Bajoga, Ashaka, Bage, Yayari, Damawako, Abuku, and Lambo Dashi. The population of the area is estimated to be populated by members of different ethnic affiliations such as the Hausa, Tangale, Kanuri, and Fulani. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the area.
