History Of Karasuwa

Karasuwa Local Government Area (LGA) is located in Yobe State, Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are situated in the town of Jajimaji, which is located on the Hadejia River at coordinates 12°53′57″N 10°48′28″E. Karasuwa LGA covers an area of 1,162 square kilometers.

According to the 2006 census, the population of Karasuwa LGA was recorded at 106,992 inhabitants. Karasuwa LGA consists of larger towns such as Jajimaji, Bukarti, Kasuwa Sidi, and small villages like Tsamiyan Gada.

The people predominantly living in Karasuwa are of the Manga tribe, which originated from the sub-Kanuri tribe. Most residents are farmers, both in towns and villages. The Bade language is spoken in Karasuwa LGA. It shares boundaries with Nguru, Bade, and Yusufari Local Government Areas.
