History Of Katagum

Katagum Local Government Area(LGA) is located in Bauchi State, North-east Nigeria. The LGA has its headquarters in the town of Azare. Katagum LGA shares boundaries with Zaki and Itas/Gadau LGAs. It is part of the Katagum Emirate.

Major towns and villages in Katagum LGA include Dugunde, Azare, Maisango, Chinade, Fatara, and Garin-Bakake. The estimated population of Katagum LGA is 204,732 inhabitants.

The majority of the area's dwellers belong to the Hausa, Fulani, and Gudurawa tribes. The Hausa language is one of the spoken languages in Katagum LGA.
