History Of Lamurde

Lamurde Local Government Area (LGA) in Adamawa State, Nigeria. Lamurde is predominantly inhabited by the Bwatiye (Bachama) people. Lamurde Local Government Area was established on December 14, 1996, carved out from the local government of Numan.

Lamurde shares borders with several local government areas in Adamawa State, including Taraba State to the west, Guyuk and Shelleng local government areas to the east, Gombe State to the north, and Numan local government to the south.

The local government area covers an area of 1098 square kilometers.
Geographical Coordinates: Lamurde is located roughly between latitudes 10°24" west and 12°45" east, as well as 9°39" north and 9°11" south. According to the 2006 census, the population of Lamurde Local Government Area was reported to be 111,252.
