History Of Makarfi

Makarfi Local Government Area is located in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Its administrative headquarters is situated in the town of Makarfi. Makarfi Local Government Area covers an area of 541 square kilometers and had a population of 146,259 people according to the 2006 census. The estimated current population is 261,803 inhabitants.

Makarfi LGA is bordered by Ikara and Kudan LGAs within Kaduna State, as well as parts of Kano State. The area comprises several towns and villages, including Dandamisa, Rahama, Mayere, Kwatakware, Dorayi, Gangara, and Gwanki. The majority of the population in Makarfi LGA belongs to the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa language is commonly spoken in the area.
