Makoda local government area is situated in Kano State, Nigeria. Its administrative headquarters are located in the town of Koguna. Makoda LGA was carved out of Danbatta local government area.
Makoda LGA covers an area of 441 km⊃2; and had a population of 222,399 according to the 2006 census. The area comprises several towns and villages, including Ganji, Danya, Nakarari, Jibya, Zago, Tabo, Chidari, and Sabon Ruwa.
