History Of Mashegu

Mashegu Local Government Area (LGA) is located in Niger State, Nigeria, within the North-central geopolitical zone. It is bounded by the Niger River to the west and the Kaduna River to the northeast.

The headquarters of Mashegu LGA is located in the town of Mashegu.
Mashegu LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Nagogo, Kawo, Soba, Zugurma, Wadata, Pate, Sassa, Konwan, and Adabo.

The estimated population of Mashegu LGA is approximately 189,329 inhabitants. The population is characterized by a mix of ethnic affiliations, including the Nupe, Hausa, and Dakarkari. The Hausa language is widely spoken among residents. Mashegu LGA is part of the historic Kontagora Emirate
