History Of Mashi

Mashi Local Government Area is located in Katsina State, North-West Nigeria. It shares a border with the Republic of Niger. The headquarters of Mashi LGA is situated in the town of Mashi, which is in the southwest of the area, located at coordinates approximately 12°59′00″N latitude and 7°57′00″E longitude.

According to the 2006 census, Mashi LGA had a population of 173,134 people. However, an estimated population of 200,632 inhabitants  Mashi LGA consists of several towns and villages, including Badauri, Morawa, Tamilo, Yamal, Sonkaya, Korau, Doguru, and Bamle. 

The majority of the inhabitants in Mashi LGA are reported to be members of the Fulani ethnic group. The Fulfulde and Hausa languages are commonly spoken in the LGA. The postal code for Mashi LGA is 823
