History Of Moro

Moro Local Government Area is located in Kwara State, Nigeria, in the North-central geopolitical zone. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Bode Sa’adu. Moro LGA covers an area of 3,272 km2.

As of the 2006 census, Moro had a population of 108,792 inhabitants. However, the current estimated population is put at 213,448 inhabitants. Towns and villages that make up Moro LGA include Lanwa, Ejidongari, Olooru, Ipaye, Molete, Aaro, Ige, and Odun-Ade.

The majority of the area's dwellers are members of the Igbomina sub-group of the Yoruba ethnic affiliation. Both Islam and Christianity are practiced in the area. Moro Local Government Area is part of the Ilorin Emirate and is also a part of the Kwara North senatorial district. The postal code for Moro Local Government Area is 241.
