Home to members of the Igbo ethnic group. It covers the whole of Enugu North and the Nsukka people are found in Kogi state. Other nearby situations including Aku and Uzo Uwani are now referred to as Nsukka, because they fall into the political zoning system in Nigeria known as Senatorial zone. The Local government is located in the hilly and green sites which Nsukka is known for close to colonial quarters of the pre-independence years. Nsukka town is known as the site of the first indigenous Nigerian University, the University of Nigeria Nsukka, founded by the Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, first President of Nigeria. The Opi Lake is also located here. It is a combination of seven lakes. It gives a breathtakingly amazing view.
