History Of Obafemi Owode

Obafemi Owode Local Government Area is a Local Government Area in Ogun State, Nigeria. The administrative headquarters of Obafemi Owode LGA is in the town of Owode, located at 6°57′N 3°30′E. Obafemi Owode covers a total land area of 1,410 square kilometers.

Obafemi Owode shares boundaries with Odeda, Sagamu, Ikenne, and Ifo LGAs, as well as parts of Lagos and Oyo states. According to the 2006 census, Obafemi Owode had a population of 228,851 inhabitants. The estimated population in recent years is approximately 194,813 residents.

The majority of the population in Obafemi Owode belongs to the Egba sub-division of the Yoruba ethnic group. Some towns and villages in Obafemi Owode LGA include Adigbe, Kobafe, Ajebo, Owode, Iro, Makoloko, Oba, and Obafemi.
