History Of Obi, Benue State

Obi local government area is located in Benue State, Nigeria, situated in the North-central geopolitical zone. The headquarters of Obi Local Government Area is in the town of Obarike-ito.

Obi LGA shares boundaries with Gwer, Konshisha, Otukpo, Ado, and Oju LGAs. Several towns and villages make up Obi LGA, including Ojegbe, Ameka, Abelega, Odiapa, Yeshewe, and Owo.

The estimated population of Obi LGA is 193,098 inhabitants. The majority of the population belongs to the Igede ethnic group. The Igede language is commonly spoken in Obi LGA.
