History Of Obi Ngwa

Obi Ngwa Local Government Area (LGA) is located in the southeastern part of the state, and it is one of the two Local Government Areas that make up Aba North/South Federal Constituency. The LGA is known for its rich cultural heritage, agricultural resources and it is a major center of trade and commerce. Obi Ngwa LGA covers an area of approximately 108km⊃2;, and the population was estimated to be around 150,000 people as of 2006 census. The headquarters of the LGA is located in the town of Aba, which is a major commercial and industrial center in the state and known as the "Enyimba City"

It is bordered by Aba North Local Government Area to the north, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area to the east, Umuahia South Local Government Area to the south and Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area to the west.
